Broderick Young/Electronic Meditation Program (TBR07)

TBR07: This "s/t" split album features a 20+ minute sound collage piece by Broderick Young on one side and the keyboard/tape loop music of Electronic Meditation Program on the other. Broderick Young’s “The Mixtape” was realized by the composer cutting commerically released tape to create loops and mangled textures; then sticking it all back together with scotch tape and playing it. A stereo or three may have been destroyed creating the final mix which was transferred to Audacity for final editing. Tupac, Stravinsky, Mas Alli De La Musica Disco, and more all make appearances on this one of a kind bit of musique concrete. Electronic Meditation Program's "Weltshmerz"  was produced using 1/4" tape loops, found cassettes, Casio keyboards, organs, etc. most of which were found in various states of disrepair.  The sounds were then pieced together to create EMP’s unique auditory journey in three parts. Edition of 25.
